Member Churches
For more than three decades, churches across Macomb County have been the backbone of MCREST’s mission. What began as a rotating shelter program has grown into a coordinated network of congregations who support our guests through generosity, compassion, and purposeful service. Today, our partner churches continue to play an essential role—not by hosting guests overnight, but by ensuring the women, men, and children we serve have the meals, support, and resources they need to rebuild their lives.
What Church Membership Means Today.
As MCREST has evolved from rotating shelters to a year-round fixed facility, the role of our member churches has also transformed. Today, church membership is centered around three core commitments.
1. Financial Support
Your contributions help us provide shelter, meals, transportation, case management, and essential services 365 days a year.
Funding from member churches directly supports:
• Emergency shelter
• Daily meals
• Mental health and recovery support
• Housing navigation
• Transportation and employment assistance
2. Donated Meals
Churches sign up to provide prepared meals—either by cooking in their own kitchens or donating catered options. Feeding 50–80 guests at a time requires a community effort, and your meal donations ensure every person in our care receives nourishment and comfort.
3. Volunteer Service
Congregations help serve meals, prepare hygiene kits, and assist with seasonal needs. These acts of service bring warmth, dignity, and human connection to people who may feel forgotten.
