MCREST announces elections, additions to directors’ board
The Macomb county Rotating Emergency Shelter Team announced the
addition of six members to its 15-seat board of directors. Elected
at the annual MCREST membership meeting were Patricia Dery of St.
Clair Shores, Janet Miller of Clinton Township, Margaret O’Reilly of
Clinton Township, Jody Wenz of St. Clair Shores, Richard Bagdasarian
of Chesterfield and Charles O’Brien of Washington Township. Each
was elected for a three year term.
Additionally, in July the MCREST board of directors elected the
following officers for the 2007 term; Laurie Huff of New Baltimore,
president; Patricia Dery, vice president; Janet Miller, treasurer;
and Kim Perkins of Warren, secretary.
MCREST is a Macomb County non-profit agency consisting of a center
for intake, assessment, referral and support for the homeless;
offering them safe, emergency shelter within area host churches and
an opportunity to choose a path that could enable them to become
self-suficient.
Founded in 1988, MCREST is a leading provider of emergency shelter
for homeless families and individuals in Macomb County. On an
annual basis over 19,000 shelter nights are provided Macomb county
homeless with over 75,000 volunteer hours logged by MCREST member
churches.
